Hi and welcome!

I’m Susan, a Reiki Master Teacher who uses my 30+ years of study in Contemporary Spirituality to help people (me included) tame stress, illness, grief, and other plagues of modern messy life.

We all have an innate wisdom we can tune into for help at any time. I have found that Reiki nurtures this inner strength by providing a state of deep relaxation that:

• Supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself
• Promotes spiritual and mental wellbeing
• Loosens up blocked energy
• Complements other medical treatments by reducing negative effects, shortening healing time, reducing pain and stress, and creating optimism, but is not meant to be a substitute for medical treatment.

I clearly remember having my first Reiki treatment back in 1989. It was as if a cosmic broom swept everything out of my body, leaving behind a delicious feeling of peace and tranquility. I said, “right, more of that please!” and undertook the first level of Reiki training the next year.

Fast forward nine years. Divorced, grieving the loss of my beloved Dad and working in the job from hell, the Universe nudged me further along the spiritual path – that of becoming a Reiki Master. Since then, I have doneReiki treatments and training upon request in SK, AB, BC and New Zealand.

My full-time work in social work/career coaching/academic advising came to an abrupt halt in 2009 when I fell ill with an ongoing health condition. Reiki, as ever, helped me recover and eventually provided another huge spiritual nudge – doing PhD research on using spirituality to cope with long term stress. Doctoral degree in hand (well ok, on the wall), I now live, write & Reiki in Saanichton, BC – the traditional land of the WŚANEĆ people – a privilege for a prairie girl from Saskatchewan.
