Catherine Briand
Catherine Briand is the founder of Gentle Path, a cognitive health and dementia support practice based in Brentwood Bay. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®) and trained administrator of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA®), with a long history of working alongside individuals and families affected by cognitive concerns and dementia.
Catherine’s approach is deeply person-centred and compassionate, grounded in clinical structure and individualized guidance. She believes every person deserves respectful, collaborative support that honours their lived experience and personal priorities. Her work focuses on early identification, practical care planning, and evidence-informed brain health strategies, providing individuals and care partners with the clarity and confidence to make informed decisions.
Prior to founding Gentle Path, Catherine served as a Director with the Alzheimer Society, where she supported families through education, system navigation, community resource connection, and complex care planning. In addition, she worked closely with first responders, providing coaching and guidance to help them better understand and support individuals living with dementia in community settings. These experiences shaped her commitment to offering guidance that is grounded in professional best practices and delivered with practical insight and human understanding.
Catherine offers services in both English and French, and strives to create a safe, supportive environment where people feel heard, understood, and equipped to take meaningful next steps on their health journey.
