Kay Takara

Kay is an RMT with a passionate commitment to help people find relief and improved their mobility through massage therapy.
She finds value in offering a variety of techniques and modalities in her treatments such as myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, trigger point release, various forms of assisted and active stretching, and integration of thermo-therapeutic tools such as hot stones and paraffin wax.

A graduate of the Massage Therapy program at Camosun College, Kay feels that her education has provided her an exceptional foundation in evidence-based, client-centred care that she brings forward into her practice along with a desire to continue learning and evolving her RMT offerings.

Kay is experienced and comfortable in treating a wide variety of clientele facing both complex and straightforward health situations. Her areas of interest include supporting the mobility and health needs of veterans, para-athletes, people with neurological challenges, and those navigating their menopause journey. However, her door is open to anyone – be it for a nervous system calming massage, or for more active treatments to address specific structures.
As a veteran herself, Kay draws on her 23 years of service as a naval officer to bring a professional, collaborative, and open-minded approach to her practice as an RMT. Kay is an instructor of Functional Mobility, and is now completing her Masters of Adult Education while pursuing her menopause coaching certificate. She’s committed to empowering her clients with relevant and actionable information about their bodies so that they’re enabled to make informed decisions about their health and quality of life.
